Success Is A Result of What We Do
Accountability is something we learn from a young age. Is it a state of mind, body, and soul. Continuing to stay accountable throughout your life, however, is a discipline. It is mentally keeping yourself on track and acknowledging the things that must be done. It's also ignoring the "noise" of society that may tell you to do otherwise and truly trusting yourself and your decisions.
Admittedly, life has not always dealt me the best cards. And although many of things that have happened to me truly aren't my fault, it is still my responsibility to work through the struggles to live the happy and successful life that I deserve. Understanding and mastering a work/life balance is a skill that will follow me forever and is one that I hope to pass down to my daughters. I could name a thousand reasons why I *might* be bad at something, whether that be work, school, or being a mother. Or I could look at the positives and name a thousand reasons why I believe I can be successful.
The power of humility is what grants us the opportunities to learn from our mistakes and drive us to become better. I look to all things presented before me with open eyes and ears. There is always room for improvement - not superiority and arrogance.
I am an owner. My responsibilities are no one else's but mine. As a daughter, mother, girlfriend, and student it is my job to maintain a committed relationship with all parts of my life - making sure I don't neglect one for the other. That doesn't mean I don't show grace to myself either. Knowing what I can and cannot do prevents burnout and frustration.
Jack of all trades, master of none, though often better than a master of one. -Elizabethan English

Nice work! I totally agree with you, it's important to learn from our mistakes, because that's how we become a better person. I also like how you added the quote down below :)
ReplyDeleteThis is an inspiring reflection on life, ownership, and accountability. My favorite part of it is how you look at challenges like opportunities. After reading this, I do not doubt your ownership and positive outlook, and I am sure you are a super mom. :)
